October 2-4:

Illinois Council of the Blind convention at the Embassy Suites Hotel, East Peoria, Ill. Room rates are $109 per night plus tax. This year’s theme is “Treasuring the Past and Transitioning to the Future.” Sessions begin Friday afternoon. Friday night features a social; Saturday night is the banquet. To get this convention rate, register by October 15 and be sure to mention the Washington Council of the Blind. Convention sessions run all day Friday and ‘til noon Saturday. Nov. 13-15:

ACB of Maryland convention at the Doubletree by Hilton BWI Airport, Linthicum Heights, Md. Room rate is $109 plus tax when you mention that you are with the American Council of the Blind of Maryland convention; call (410) 859-8400. 
 
The deadline for hotel room reservations is October 30, and the deadline for convention registration is November7.  The hotel has a shuttle which can pick up and drop off at BWI Airport or the nearby Amtrak train station at no charge. Convention sessions run from 6-9 p.m. Friday, all day Saturday, with an auction Saturday night, and Sunday ‘til noon.
