ACB Scholarship Program Application Period is Now Open! 

The 2022 ACB Scholarship application is now live. The application period will be open from Nov 1st, 2021 through February 14th, 2022. To find out more please join the Scholarship Launch Information Event which will take place on Monday, November 8 at 9pm ET, 6pm PT, 3pm HT. Whether you’ve applied previously or are considering applying, join the ACB Scholarship Committee for an overview of the application process and have your questions answered. If you’re a previous scholarship winner, we’d love you to be on-hand to share what’s worked for you as well. Advocacy Trick or Treat

Survey: Air Travel Experience of Passengers with Disabilities

As we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the air Carrier Access Act, ACB and our partners request your personal experiences with air travel as passengers with disabilities. ACB Voices November Blog Submissions

November is Diabetic Awareness Month as well as when ACB’s inaugural Audio Description Awards Gala (November 18th) takes place. ACB’s Board of Publications and Public Awareness Committee would like to highlight these significant events through our ACB Voices blog. We are calling for our members and friends to submit blog entries about what audio description means to you, or how your life has been affected by diabetes. Americans With Disabilities Less Likely Than Those Without to Own Some Digital Devices

More than 40 million people in the United States have a disability, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. But even as majorities of these Americans report having certain technologies, the digital divide between those who have a disability and those who do not remains for some devices. Forward for Good

Verizon and the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) are partnering again to launch the Verizon Forward for Good Challenge. The Challenge supports a diverse community of student innovators in leveraging leading-edge technology such as 5G, to address pressing social issues in the U.S. in education, climate and environment, peace and human rights, poverty alleviation, and public health. This initiative is part of Citizen Verizon, Verizon's responsible business plan for economic, environmental, and social advancement. Finalist teams will receive access to intensive summer entrepreneurship training with accelerator partner VentureWell, seed funding, and living stipends to bring their solutions to life. All current undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a U.S. institution as well as CGI U alumni who were previously or are currently enrolled in a U.S. institution are encouraged to apply.
