The ACB Board of Publications met via teleconference on March 2, 2009 at approximately 9:05pm (EST). Members present were: Paul Edwards, Jenine Stanley, Marcia Dresser, Judy Jackson and Ken Stewart. Ex oficio members present were: Barry Levine and Ron Milliman. ACB Staff and volunteers present were: Sharon Lovering and Carla Ruschival.

The ACB Board of Publications met via teleconference on January 5, 2009 at approximately 9:15pm (EST). Members present were: Paul Edwards, Jenine Stanley, Ken Stewart, Marcia Dresser and Judy Jackson. Ex Oficio members present were:Barry Levine. ACB staff members and contractual employees present included: Sharon Lovering and Larry Turnbull. Ron Milliman was absent. 

Agenda: 

Judy moved to accept the proposed agenda with amendments. The motion was seconded and adopted.

The ACB Board of Publications met via teleconference onDecember 1, 2008 at approximately 9:05pm (EST). ACB staff members and contractual employees present included: Sharon Lovering and Larry Turnbull.

Ken Stewart moved to accept the proposed agenda. The motion was seconded and adopted.

October 6, 2008

The BOP started its monthly meeting with an open meeting. The purpose of this open meeting was to give the general membership of ACB a chance to give input to the BOP regarding different issues that are of concern. There was an excellent turn-out of the general membership.

The BOP was called to order at approximately 9:11 PM by Chairman Paul Edwards. He began by calling the role.

The ACB Board of Publications met via teleconference August 1 at approximately 9:30pm (EDT). Members present were: Paul Edwards, Jenine Stanley, Ken Stewart, Judy Jackson. Marcia Dresser was absent. Ex Oficio Members present were: Ron Milliman; Absent, Barry Levine. ACB personnel attending were: Sharon Lovering, Melanie Brunson and Earlene Hughes.

The BOP entered executive session at 9:34pm. The regular session resumed at 9:47pm.

Approval of Proposed Agenda
Jenine Stanley moved to approve the agenda as proposed at the beginning of the meeting. The motion was seconded and adopted.

Ken Stewart moved to approve the December minutes. The motion was seconded and adopted. 

Background

In November of 2008, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) promulgated a regulation that has had a detrimental impact on the lives of countless individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
