ACB Family Table
On behalf of all of us at The American Council of the Blind, we want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving. This past year has been quite transformative for so many of us throughout the ACB family. Indeed, this Thanksgiving for many will be like none other before in our history. And in the distance that separates us all, please know we are still connected by our community that has thrived since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. That feeling of isolation is no stranger to anyone who has experience blindness. Knowing this well, we are acutely aware of those this holiday season who may be wrapped in their own feeling of solitude. All of us at ACB want everyone to know that you are not alone. So, in this holiday spirit, we wanted to share our own long-distance Thanksgiving greeting comprised of warm wishes from our staff, contractors and many of our board members. Access the video on YouTube by visiting: https://youtu.be/YDlP758nOrA. Thanks to technology, we remain connected from coast to coast, and we look forward to staying connected with you throughout the holiday season. If you’re not already on our ACB community mailing list, be sure to sign up today so you can keep in touch over the holidays and stay connected with the ACB family. Together, we are Community Strong! Be safe, stay well, and have a happy Thanksgiving.
Giving Thanks to Our Supporters
ACB hosted a special community event on November 19th to share all the great work that has been undertaken this year, and be able to say “thank you” for all of your support as we work to make our mission and vision a reality for every person who is blind and visually impaired. There were two parts to the community event hosted on November 19th, where we were joined by ACB leaders who shared our successes in 2020. Part 1 features ACB Executive Director Eric Bridges, and ACB Director of Development Tony Stephens: https://youtu.be/lQekygqltlY. Part 2 features ACB President Dan Spoone and ACB Director of Development Tony Stephens: https://youtu.be/RHHlb-QHM8U.
Friendsgiving with ACB
On this Thanksgiving 2020, you are not alone. Throughout the day, friends will be on-hand to welcome you in to our community where love, friendship, and support abound. Whether for 10 minutes or 10 hours, for someone to laugh with or cry with, please join us! Each hour we have a new facilitator and host ready to greet you. No matter the conversation of the hour, you’ll know you’ll be joining a community of friends. The Zoom info will be emailed through our Community Events email list.
