The American Association of Blind Teachers, (AABT) will present several fun and informative activities during the 55th annual American Council of the Blind Conference and Convention.

  • AABT Annual Breakfast and Program
    Includes the keynote presentation, “Skills for Work That Work.” What skills lead to successful employment? What does recent research reveal? Presenter Tabitha Brecke shares her extensive findings on this topic. AABT’s business meeting will follow the program.

  • The Teaching Job Interview
    What are administrators looking for in job candidates? What kinds of questions can you expect when interviewing for a teaching position? What can you do to make your teaching job interview a success?  Learn from a panel of experts including John Davis, principal of the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind.

  • EQ Test: An Assessment Tool for Blind Job Seekers

    An interactive workshop. You may know your IQ, but what is your EQ (Employability Quotient)? Bring writing materials to take an abbreviated version of the EQ Test and assess your own job readiness skills.

    AABT is co-sponsoring a workshop on children's literature on Sunday afternoon, July 3; joining the audio description conference on Monday, July 4; participating in the LUA/BRL/AABT program on Wednesday, July 6; and joining the Round and Harmony Iing with Friends-in-Art, also on Wednesday, July 6.
