For the past few years, Library Users of America has made book discussion a part of its annual program at the ACB convention. This year we are asking you to read “For the Benefit of Those Who See: Dispatches from the World of the Blind,” by Rosemary Mahoney. In this book, Mahoney, educator and author of “Down the Nile,” describes her experiences teaching at a school for the blind in India and details her fears as well as the challenges of translating the sighted world for her students. It also profiles the founder of the school, Sabriye Tenberken.
"For the Benefit of Those Who See: Dispatches from the World of the Blind" is available on digital cartridge or by BARD download, DB77851, from your NLS regional or sub-regional library. You can also find it as a Kindle Book that you can read with the Kindle app on your iOS device or with your Kindle Fire HDX.
