ACB Goes Gold in the Silver State

It's already November, and ACB is getting closer and closer to going gold. The 2011 ACB conference and convention is set for July 8-16 in Reno, Nev., and you will want to be there to help us celebrate ACB's 50th anniversary.

The conference hotel is the fabulous John Ascuaga Nugget Hotel Resort Casino. It features two 29-story towers with over 1,500 rooms, eight restaurants, six bars, pool, fitness center, and of course a casino.

ACB Photography

The official ACB photographer for the 2011 conference and convention will be taking pictures in the exhibit hall, on selected tours, and at many social events. He will visit committee and affiliate meetings and workshops, general sessions, and the banquet.

It is understood that all activities and programs scheduled at the 2011 conference and convention are subject to be photographed. Photos are the property of ACB, and are for ACB's use.

Shop 'Til You Drop!

Visit the largest mall in the United States at the 55th annual Conference and Convention of the American Council of the Blind in Minneapolis, MN.

The Mall of America, located in Bloomington, MN, features an amusement park, aquarium, movie theater, and four levels of shops and restaurants.

Two tours are offered - one on Saturday, July 2 from 10:15 AM to 5:30 PM and another on Monday, July 4 from 1:00 to 6:30 PM. There will be very limited volunteer assistance at the mall, so consider bringing a shopping "buddy".

Getting Down to Business with IVIE

Join the Independent Visually Impaired Entrepreneurs (IVIE) during the 55th annual Conference and Convention of the American Council of the Blind to learn about owning your own business.

2016 Conference and Convention News!

Attention sponsors, advertisers and exhibitors: www.acbconvention.orgis up and running for the 2016 ACB Conference and Convention in Minneapolis, MN, July 1-July 9, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.  Sponsors, advertisers and exhibitors may now browse the site and place their orders.  A new secure login procedure has been created, so users will need to create a new login and password - logins and passwords used in previous years will no longer work.

Macular Degeneration Indoor Navigation

Thanks to a generous donation from MD Support and their partner Macular Degeneration Foundation, indoor navigation technology will be available once again to attendees at this year's ACB conference and convention in Minneapolis.  The guidance system works by sending audible instructions and location descriptions to iDevices (iPhone 4S or later and iPad 4 or later).  The information is electronically transmitted by beacons placed at meeting rooms, restrooms, elevators, and other venues.

Digital Information and Internet

ACB Radio - ACB Radio livestreams from all general sessions on the Mainstream channel; sessions are replayed around the clock. ACB Radio Mainstream at the convention sponsored by Humanware.

ACB Radio broadcasts from the Exhibit Hall on ACB Interactive. The FIA Performing Arts Showcase, BOP Candidates' Forum, and ACB Banquet are also livestreamed.
