About the Michigan Council of the Blind

The Michigan Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired (MCBVI), is the Michigan affiliate of the American Council of the Blind! Our goal is to increase the independence, security, equality of opportunity, and quality of life for people who are blind and visually impaired throughout Michigan. We do this in a positive, productive, and supportive environment sharing ideas and enjoying friendships!

MCBVI is a registered non-profit organization in Michigan, with members of all ages who are blind, visually impaired or sighted, representing a broad diversity of cultural and professional backgrounds. We have local chapters around the state and are always looking to seed new ones, as well as many members at large who can connect with each other through our Mitten Phone Chapter.

We welcome your participation in our active schedule of events, and hope you will join us!

Understanding the impacts of laws, community needs and opportunities for full access, helps all members become stronger Advocates. You may join us through one of our local chapters, or join as a member at large and connect with others through our Mitten Phone Chapter! For information on how to join, visit our website: www.michigancounciloftheblind.org
