Kral, Lorraine Marie
Aug 21, 1938 - Jun 28, 2011
Born to Joseph Kral and Agnes Pecka. Returned to our Lord's loving arms. She is mourned by her sisters, Evelyn Anderson and Mildred Hladky; her children, Vincent, Denise, Cambron, Dana and Devona; along with many extended family and friends. As she requested no memorial in her name, anyone who feels moved to, may donate to the American Council of the Blind of Nebraska.
Lorraine was instrumental in helping to enable other blind and physically handicapped people to become more independent, as she helped establish the subsidized cab program called Share a Fare and was well known by several prominent members of the community. She graduated from the Nebraska School for the Blind in 1955. Graduated with a BA from Doane College and earned both transcription certificates and teaching certificates in 1959 and 1962, which she used to better the community she loved so well. She taught music in Ong, NE and continued to give private lessons to visually impaired students after she retired. She served on the Mayor's Commission for Citizens With Disabilites for a year, but continued as a consultant for them for many years thereafter. She leaves us a legacy of a lifetime of bettering our community and that of a loving and strong mother who will be missed.
