The American Council of the Blind of Minnesota (ACBM) began in the early 1970's, as the "Gopher State Blind Association." The name was changed to the American Council of the Blind of Minnesota in the early 1980's, when the organization became formally affiliated with the American Council of the Blind (ACB).

The American Council of the Blind of Minnesota is an organization that looks to the future, while recognizing the lessons taught by the past. Please join ACBM in making a better future for all blind Minnesotans.

ACBM Board Meeting

ACBM Board meetings are held at Currans Restaurant, 4201 Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis
ACBM coffee will be on February 13 from 10:00 A.M. to noon.   The temporary new location is the Nicollet Diner, 1428 Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis. This new location will be on a trial basis.
The next Quarterly Meeting will be held on January 23, 2016.   Quarterly meetings are held at Joseph's Grille, 140 South Wabasha Street in St. Paul.

Our January quarterly meeting will be held on January 23rd at Joseph's Grille, 140 S Wabasha, in Saint Paul.
Social hour is from 11:30 until 12:30 followed by lunch, our annual bake sale and our business meeting. The meeting will conclude by 4:00 PM.

Luncheon choices are:

  1. Cheeseburger.
  2. Minnesota Chicken: Chicken Breast stuffed with a Wild Rice, Swiss Cheese Stuffing and Chablis Cream Sauce and served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables of the Day.
  3. Portabella sandwich: Grilled Marinated Portabella Mushroom on Focaccia Bread. Topped with Onion, Tomato, Lettuce, Artichokes, and Pesto Mayo.

Meal cost is $15.00.

Agenda items include:

  1. Update on 2016 ACB convention in Minneapolis
  2. Discussion of 2017 ACBM state convention
  3. 2016 elections

Additional items will be added to the meeting agenda at the meeting.

Bake sale: Please bring treats to sell and money to buy other treats; this is one of our most popular fund raisers so bake and buy!

Daily Three tickets: The drawing will begin on Sunday January 24th and will end on Tuesday February 2nd. Tickets are $5.00 you have 10 chances to win $25.00

2016 Membership Dues: If you haven't already done so, 2016 dues are to be paid by January 31st. Dues are $15.00; see below for payment options.

Please e-mail Steve Robertson with your meal choices and number of daily three tickets at or call him at (612) 819-5222. We would appreciate hearing from you by Sunday, January 10th.

Cancellation policy: If you make a reservation and then find you are unable to attend, please call Steve by noon on Friday, January 22nd. If you cancel after that time you will be responsible for paying for your meal.
