The Alliance on Aging and Vision Loss (AAVL) is an ACB affiliate that specializes in addressing issues surrounding the onset of vision loss later in life.
People dealing with age-related vision loss, those with family members coping with such vision loss, and individuals interested in services for this population will have three opportunities to connect during the 55th annual Conference and Convention of the American Council of the Blind in Minneapolis, MN.

Tony Stephens, ACB's Director of Advocacy and Governmental Affairs, will share valuable information concerning recent changes to Social Security and Medicare. The annual AAVL business meeting will follow.

A stimulating seminar with staff from Vision Loss Resources of Minneapolis. Using a blindness center model, VLR has built a strong program of services and development activities for seniors taking charge of issues surrounding their vision loss. Get an overview of their programs and discuss steps that can help improve existing senior programs or partner with other groups to launch such programs where they don't exist. Bring your ideas and questions for what's sure to be a lively discussion.
