While we list individual movie theaters here that we know about that
offer audio description on one or more of their screens, here are two
good ways to find theaters near you:
MoPix Movie Theaters by State
Regal Entertainment Group Open Captioned and Descriptive Audio Showtimes
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE LISTING!
It's the best we can gather from information submitted ...
Alabama
- Trussville Stadium 16 in Birmingham (205-655-2875)
- Hollywood Stadium 18 in Huntsville (256-883-1101)
Arkansas
California
- AMC in Burbank; theaters in Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Santa Monica,
and Culver City
Michigan
Minnesota
- Block E movie theater, Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis
New York
- AMC at 42nd St and 8th Ave, Lincoln Center at 66 St, and most
other AMC locations. Reportedly, the equipment does not always work
properly.
Utah
- Ogden Megaplex 13
- South Jordan Megaplex 20
To find described shows, visual access is
required. Go to
www.megaplextheatres.com, click Showtimes & Tickets, selected
Megaplex 20 or 13, then look for show times in light blue and
"Descriptive Video Service" in the pop-up menu when you put your
cursor over the time. Management says equipment is checked
frequently; however, it is very important that you make it clear you
want the descriptive video equipment, not the assisted listening
device, and that you are directed to the correct screen, as only one
room has the DVS transmitter.
Vermont
- The Capitol Plaza in Montpelier
- The Palace 9 in South Burlington
